Sr Engineer - Structures

1. Position Overview

The Civil Structures Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising the construction of industrial building foundations involving mass concrete works. The role requires strong technical knowledge in structural design, foundation engineering, material specifications, and industrial project execution. The candidate must ensure quality, safety, and compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Design and review industrial building foundations, pedestal foundations, machine foundations, and heavy structural support systems.
• Prepare structural calculations, GA drawings, reinforcement detailing, and construction methodology for mass concrete works.
• Conduct soil/ground investigations review and select appropriate foundation systems (isolated, combined, raft, pile, etc.).
• Coordinate with architects, MEP teams, project managers, and contractors for seamless technical execution.
• Monitor mass concrete pouring, temperature control procedures, curing, and concrete quality management.
• Review and validate material mix designs, concrete grade selections, and reinforcement requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IS codes, IRC, ACI, BS standards (as applicable).
• Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
• Conduct site inspections, resolve technical queries, and support QA/QC teams.
• Prepare progress reports, engineering documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Evaluate contractor proposals and participate in technical bid evaluations.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of structural engineering and foundation design for industrial structures.
• Expertise in mass concrete works, thermal control, temperature monitoring, and concrete curing techniques.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Good understanding of soil mechanics, geotechnical reports, and structural load calculations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
