Job Description

Position Summary:

SQL Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

Write, test, and maintain efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
Develop database scripts for data manipulation, extraction, and reporting.
Optimize existing SQL code to enhance performance and reduce load times.
Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and database administrators to meet data requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and bugs.
Assist in database design, normalization, and indexing strategies.
Ensure data integrity, security, and backup procedures are followed.
Generate reports and dashboards based on SQL queries to support business needs.
Document database processes, scripts, and procedures.
Stay updated on the latest SQL features, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience (2+ years) in SQL programming and database management.
Proficiency in SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS.
Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization.
Experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing is a plus.

Desirable:

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and reporting frameworks.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is a bonus.
Understanding of cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
