SQL Developer (6 months contract)

Key Requirements

• 10-15 years of experience in SQL
• Strong experience with SQL Server
• Should have good English communication skills as the resource will support the UK stakeholders
• Should be willing to travel to the UK for up to 15 days, if required
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Regular shift: Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM IST

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain

  SQL Server databases

  to collect and store data from PLCs, machines, and sensors.
• Develop

  robust stored procedures, views, and scripts

  for real-time and historical reporting.
• Work with engineers and production staff to understand data needs and translate them into reliable database solutions.
• Build

  alerts and reporting logic

  that surface equipment issues and process deviations quickly.
• Document database structures, processes, and data flows in clear, concise language.
• Ensure database performance, reliability, and data integrity in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years working with

  SQL Server

  in a production environment.
• Deep knowledge of

  T-SQL

  , query optimization, and database performance tuning.
• Experience integrating data from

  PLCs, SCADA systems, or industrial control equipment

  .
• Strong ability to document systems for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs, downtime tracking, and production reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with reporting tools (SSRS, Power BI, or similar).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and data collection methods.
• Exposure to domain-driven data design principles.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.

Basically heavyweight” SQL engineers that will make sure what we have in Hull works well, can work with our existing SQL-heavy stack, can document requirements AND solution, and deliver fast.

Then we can lift into a future arch. as we design it IF maintaining RDBMS is the right backbone for our use-cases! Or we can re-factor from a strong, documented starting point.
