SQL Database Administrator

As an SQL Server DBA at AHEAD, you will be an integral part of the technical service delivery team responsible for managing and supporting Microsoft SQL database systems for clients. Your primary duties and essential job functions will include: - Resolving Client Technical Support Issues through the Managed Service Desk - Performing the installation of Database application software, patches, and service packs - Proactively monitoring and maintaining databases - Performing backups and restores - Supporting systems for high availability and disaster recovery (e.g., Availability Groups, replication, log shipping) - Updating support documentation - Learning from Senior DBAs - Attending required training Education and Experience: - Preference given to candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Similar Technical Degree - Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Database Administration or relevant classwork, including: - Installation, Configuration, and Patching of Database Software - Operational understanding of SSIS and job monitoring - Proficiency with T-SQL - Working knowledge of RDBMS security models - Preference given to candidates with experience in Managed Services Providers and cloud-based technologies like AZURE Required Attributes: - Customer Service: Listening and responding effectively to customer questions, resolving problems to satisfaction, and exceeding customer expectations. - Ability to Multi-Task: Managing multiple issues/projects successfully to resolution in a timely manner. - Problem-Solving: Anticipating problems, recognizing signs, and evaluating procedures for improvements. - Detail-Oriented: Thoroughness in task completion, monitoring work, and planning efficiently. - Automation/Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn new software.
