SQL Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining database servers and processes to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Your key responsibilities will include: - Monitoring system health and performance to ensure optimal functioning - Troubleshooting and resolving performance issues - Performing SQL Server performance tuning, including analyzing query execution plans, SQL server profiling, index design, tuning, and maintenance - Managing database backup and recovery processes - Collaborating on database administration related projects as required - Responding to critical and non-critical production alerts and being available for on-call rotation schedule to provide production support during critical issues - Creating requested database objects and assisting with production releases To qualify for this role, you should have: - 6-8 years of SQL Server experience, including 2+ years of SQL Server development and 3+ years in Database Administration - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field - Experience with SQL Server 2016 and 2019, as well as Azure - Proficiency in writing SQL queries and stored procedures - Skills in optimizing queries and database objects, with expertise in index design and maintenance - Familiarity with SQL Server Service Broker, SQL Server in a Windows Cluster environment, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups - Knowledge of encryption techniques like TDE and Always Encrypted - Experience with monitoring tools such as SQL Monitor, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Idera, and System Center - Strong problem-solving and research skills - Flexibility to work alternative schedules when necessary - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Previous experience in supporting enterprise-level production systems in a fast-paced, high availability server environment Desired qualifications include experience in PostgreSQL, which would be a plus for this role.,
