Job Description

You will be joining a team in the Child Development & Special Education sector, specifically focusing on delivering early intervention, individualized learning plans, and inclusive classroom support for children with developmental delays and learning differences across India. Your role as a Special Education Teacher in Mumbai will involve the following responsibilities: - Assess children's developmental, academic, and adaptive skills using structured tools to create clear baseline reports and progress summaries. - Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with measurable goals, adapting lesson plans and learning materials to meet each child's unique needs. - Deliver targeted interventions, including one-to-one and small group sessions, using evidence-based techniques for autism, learning disabilities, and developmental delays. - Implement behavior-support plans and positive behavior strategies, monitoring outcomes and adjusting interventions based on data. - Collaborate with speech & occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to align therapy goals and classroom strategies. - Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and communication with parents, participating in multidisciplinary meetings and transition planning. In order to excel in this role, you must have: Must-Have: - Certificate or diploma in Special Education or equivalent professional qualification. - Practical experience in implementing IEPs and behavior-support strategies in school or center settings. - Working knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. - Familiarity with augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) approaches and assistive learning technology. - Strong practice in progress monitoring using data to inform instruction and adapt interventions. Preferred: - Experience with early intervention programs for preschool-aged children. - Training or certification in ABA, sensory integration techniques, or inclusive classroom strategies. - Prior exposure to multidisciplinary therapy coordination and parent training.
