Job Summary

The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, consistency, and presentation. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, assisting in menu development, and contributing to a positive and efficient work environment. The Sous Chef acts as second-in-command in the kitchen and takes charge during the Executive Chef’s absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in planning and preparing menus.
• Supervise daily food preparation and oversee cooking processes.
• Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas.
• Train, guide, and support kitchen staff.
• Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate ordering.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Monitor portion control and minimize food waste.
• Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
• Handle kitchen issues, resolve operational problems, and support staff during peak hours.
• Assist in scheduling and delegating tasks to kitchen staff.
• Contribute to recipe development and cost control.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Creativity and passion for high-quality food.
• Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Culinary degree or professional training preferred.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
