About the Role

SolidWorks Designer & Developer

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Concept & Design

• Create

  innovative kiosk enclosure designs

  (22, 32”, 43”, 55”, etc.) using SolidWorks.
• Develop

  3D & 2D mechanical designs

  , renders, and assembly drawings.
• Translate idea sketches into

  manufacturable designs

  with a strong focus on creativity, ergonomics, and usability.
• Design enclosures that integrate

  touchscreens, CPUs, printers, cameras, sensors, biometrics, scanners, and other peripherals

  .

2. Engineering & Technical Development

• Prepare

  detailed fabrication drawings

  for laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, and powder-coating.
• Ensure all designs follow

  sheet metal standards

  , thickness guidelines, tolerances, and structural integrity.
• Understand airflow, heat dissipation, and cable routing requirements for kiosk hardware.
• Optimize designs for

  mass production, cost efficiency, and durability

  .

3. Prototyping & Manufacturing Support

• Work closely with the fabrication team to convert designs into

  prototypes and final products

  .
• Provide support during assembly, QA inspection, and design revisions.
• Coordinate with suppliers for hardware integration and material selection.

4. Creative Visualisation

• Produce

  high-quality 3D renders

  , exploded views, and assembly animations for client presentations.
• Suggest design improvements and new form factors for next-gen kiosks.
• Create visually appealing designs that reflect the

  XIPHIAS brand identity

  .

5. Documentation & Standards

• Maintain detailed design documentation, BOM, and revision control.
• Ensure compliance with industrial standards (ISO, CE, safety norms).
• Update design libraries and maintain consistency across product families.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.

• 2–7 years of hands-on experience in SolidWorks

  (sheet metal + product design).
• Strong experience designing

  metal enclosures

  for electronics / kiosks / industrial products.
• Ability to create

  extremely clean, production-ready 2D drawings

  .
• Creative mindset with strong aesthetic sense and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of:
• Sheet metal design
• GD&T
• Manufacturing processes
• Thermal management
• Material selection
• Experience with Adobe tools (Illustrator/Photoshop) is an added advantage.
