Solar technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Technician to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of solar power plants, performing routine maintenance, and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of solar panels, inverters, transformers, and related systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical issues in the solar power plant.
• Monitor plant performance and ensure the achievement of performance benchmarks.
• Clean and maintain solar modules and other equipment to ensure efficiency.
• Handle wiring, cabling, and electrical connections as needed.
• Maintain logs, documentation, and reports on maintenance activities and plant performance.
• Coordinate with the operations team for system upgrades and improvements.
• Ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in solar power plant operations or a similar field is preferred.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, and wiring.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting tools like multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices related to solar plant maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
