Solar Site Execution In-Charge (O&M + Inverter & Spares Expert)

Location: AP / Telangana (Project-based sites)

Role Objective

To act as the on-site technical owner for solar plant execution and stabilization, with deep hands-on expertise in inverters, AC/DC systems, fault handling, and spares planning, ensuring smooth commissioning, high uptime, and fast fault resolution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Technical Control

Act as Site Execution In-Charge during installation, commissioning, and post-COD phase

Supervise inverter installation, DC stringing, AC cabling, earthing & LA systems

Ensure execution as per drawings, OEM manuals, and safety norms

2. Inverter & AC/DC Systems Ownership (CORE FOCUS)

Complete ownership of:

String / Central inverters

DC side (modules, strings, DCDB, fuses, isolators)

AC side (ACDB, transformers, LT/HT panels, RMU)

Handle inverter trips, DC faults, AC faults, communication errors

Coordinate with OEM service teams and close issues quickly

3. Spares Planning & Inventory Control (VERY IMPORTANT)

Identify critical spares for:

Inverters

DC fuses, SPD, isolators

AC breakers, relays, contactors

Maintain site-level spares register and consumption tracking

Ensure minimum spares availability to avoid downtime

4. Commissioning Testing & Stabilization

Support testing & commissioning activities

Coordinate grid synchronization and shutdowns

Stabilize plant performance post-commissioning

Ensure smooth transition from execution to O&M phase

5. Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Monitor PR, CUF, generation losses

Identify underperforming strings / inverters

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated failures

6. Team & Vendor Coordination

Lead site technicians, electricians, and helpers

Coordinate with OEMs, DISCOM officials, and EPC teams

Ensure discipline, safety compliance, and daily task closure

7. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare:

Daily site execution reports

Fault & downtime reports

Spares usage & requirement reports

Maintain commissioning & as-built documentation

Technical Skills (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Strong hands-on experience in:

Solar inverters (SMA / ABB / Sungrow / Huawei / Delta)

DC systems & protection

AC evacuation systems up to HT

SCADA fault interpretation

Electrical drawings & single line diagrams

Safety, PTW, shutdown procedures

Qualification

B.Tech / Diploma Electrical / EEE / ECE

35 years site-based solar execution or O&M experience

Must have worked hands-on at site, not only desk monitoring

Soft Skills

Strong site ownership mindset

Quick decision making during faults

Ability to handle pressure & downtime situations

Clear communication with OEMs & management
