Solar Designer

As a Solar Design Engineer, your role involves planning and creating blueprints for efficient and cost-effective solar energy systems. This includes designing systems for residential rooftops to large-scale solar farms. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting site assessments to gather information on structural features, electrical conditions, and potential obstructions or shadows. - Creating detailed designs for solar PV systems, including panel layouts, electrical single-line diagrams, and connection schematics. - Selecting appropriate components such as photovoltaic (PV) modules, inverters, batteries, and mounting structures. - Estimating energy output and optimizing system efficiency through modeling and cost-benefit analysis. - Utilizing CAD and other specialized software to develop accurate 3D models, layouts, and fabrication drawings. - Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and local regulations. - Providing technical support to clients, project managers, and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle. - Preparing and managing design documents, including master document registers and costings. To excel in this role, you should have a strong foundation in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and thermodynamics. You should also possess a deep understanding of photovoltaic systems, including both grid-connected and off-grid setups. Expertise in CAD software (such as AutoCAD), PVsyst, and other solar design and modeling tools is essential. Additionally, you should have strong problem-solving skills, project management abilities, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors.,
