Software Test Engineer

As a Senior Software Test Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will lead testing strategies that make an impact by balancing manual and automated approaches to improve Quality. You will have the opportunity to work with AI-driven testing and cloud-based automation, while also mentoring others and shaping quality standards. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers and product leaders to gain exposure to the latest technologies and automation practices. You will report to the Manager, Software Testing and have a hybrid schedule in Pune, India. **Your Responsibilities:** - Both manual and automated testing including running and reading automated test scripts, prioritizing use cases to be scripted, contributing to code reviews, writing medium-high complexity test scripts independently, and identifying opportunities to automate functional tests. - Collaborating with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Software Quality Engineers in test plan creation & execution to ensure proper test coverage. - Serving as a test lead or point person for providing testing estimates and communicating test plan, report metrics, and conducting reviews/audits to ensure that all project work and deliverables consistently meet Product Quality standards. - Supporting and mentoring other Software Test Engineers and becoming a Subject Matter Expert in the product domain. - Mapping business and technical requirements into test cases and/or test scripts. - Cultivating and disseminating knowledge of quality assurance best practices. - Utilizing data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities. - Reporting team/project metrics. **The Essentials - You Will Have:** - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. - 6+ years of direct experience supporting or testing major application product releases. - Strong knowledge of quality best practices and methodologies for software testing. - Experience with JMeter, Selenium WebDriver, or other open source/commercial market-leading solutions for functional, regression, or performance test automation. - Collaborative experience in a team environment with both on-shore and off-shore resources. - Expertise working with C#/.NET ecosystem or Java/JVM ecosystem. - Experience with relational databases and SQL. - Understanding of relational database concepts and SQL language. **The Preferred - You Might Also Have:** - Working knowledge of C#/.NET or Java/JVM ecosystem. - Experience with Azure and other Microsoft technologies. - Experience with ERP solutions, preferably Plex or other manufacturing-focused solutions. - Knowledge of ASP (VBScript), ASP.NET (C#), or MVC. - Knowledge of cloud-based automation. - Experience with AI system testing and AI-based test automation.
