What you ll achieve
As a
Software Principal Engineer (FullStack),
you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support on developing cutting edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings. As part of this role, you will work with the UI Tech team, which develops foundational tools, libraries, and UI components that empower other Boomi teams to build consistent and high-quality experiences faster. Key Responsibilities as part of the role will include:
Full-Stack Engineering & Ownership
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Java (Spring Boot or equivalent)
- Build responsive, user-focused UIs using JavaScript frameworks like GWT, React, or Angular
- Take full ownership of features and initiatives, from requirement gathering to release and monitoring
- Ensure performance, reliability, and security of the end-to-end application stack
- Write maintainable, testable code with appropriate unit and integration coverage
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with Product Management, UX, QA, and DevOps teams
- Participate in design and architecture discussions; lead code reviews and decision-making
- Mentor and support other engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration
- Actively contribute to hiring: resume review, technical interviews, and candidate evaluation
- Coordinate across scrum teams to drive shared goals and technical initiatives
Documentation & Communication
- Document system designs, APIs, and key decisions
- Communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders, both technical and non-technical
- Contribute to retrospectives, technical write-ups, and knowledge sharing
DevOps Awareness
- Use and support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Harness)
- Understand deployment patterns and collaborate with DevOps on configurations
- Monitor application performance using tools like NewRelic, CloudWatch, or Splunk
- Participate in production readiness and support discussions
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in full-stack software development
- Strong expertise in Java and JavaScript (React, Angular, or GWT)
- Proven experience owning and delivering complex features or initiatives end-to-end
- Solid foundation in HTML5, CSS3, REST APIs, and modern web development practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
- Familiarity with AI-based coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor etc.)
- Willingness to adopt emerging technologies that improve engineering productivity and product quality
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Exposure to Python for scripting, automation, or microservices
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform
- Prior experience working in SaaS environments or enterprise-scale platforms
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative delivery
