Software Engineer - Vision Systems

At the software and instrumentation group of CITE, we provide a distinguished platform for professionals aspiring to lead innovation in next-generation Vision Systems. You will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers engaged in the development of advanced solutions for material characterization, inspection, automation, and intelligent instrumentation. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in continuous learning while contributing to impactful, cutting-edge research and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop software solutions using advanced artificial intelligence and classical image processing techniques.

- Integration of machine vision setup for vision-based inspection

- Development of user-interface using Python/C++/HTML etc. to access the camera interface and to perform offline and online data analysis

- Algorithm development using classical image processing and advance AI-based methodologies

- preparing dashboard for experimentation data visualization using Excel/Power Bi/any SoTA tool.

- Pipeline development for central data connectivity

- Experience in application development

- Preparing high quality technical document, software architecture document and version control

- Optimized, Clear, leaner and efficient coding using Python/LabVIEW/MATLAB/C++ etc., using GPU based architecture

- System integration and deployment at customer locations

- Support in system configuration and product deployment

- Sensor integration, calibration, fusion with central processor

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

- B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Computer Science Engineering/ any relevant stream from a reputed institution.

- 2-5 years of hands-on project experience in AI/ML, image processing, and Python programming.

- Strong foundation in image processing and machine vision using python/C++/MATLAB.

- Expertise in developing deep learning models for vision-based applications using Torch/TensorFlow.

- Familiarity with sensor integration, edge computing, embedded system, data pipeline management in cloud platform, database management, application & user interface development

- Experience with hardware-software integration and communication protocols.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Highly desirable: experience in paper publication/patent filing/ publishing technical reports in the field of computer vision and real-time data analysis.
