Job Role - Software Engineer Testing

Experience - 5 to 8 Years

Key Responsibilities:

? Test Strategy & Planning:

o Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test plans for both manual and automated testing.

o Collaborate with development teams to ensure that quality assurance (QA) processes are incorporated into the entire software development lifecycle.

o Define and document clear test cases, acceptance criteria, and requirements for features and user stories.

? Manual Testing:

o Conduct manual testing of web and mobile applications, ensuring full test coverage for functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.

o Execute various types of tests such as functional, usability, integration, system, and exploratory testing.

o Report and track defects using bug tracking tools like JIRA, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.

o Work with the team to reproduce, document, and verify bugs across multiple environments.

? Automation Testing:

o Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Appium, or Cypress.

o Develop and integrate automated test scripts for both functional and regression testing of web and mobile applications. o Collaborate with the CI/CD pipeline to integrate automated tests and ensure that they are executed in an efficient and consistent manner.

o Optimize and refactor test scripts to ensure they are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

? Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:

o Advocate for best practices in both manual and automation testing, ensuring the quality of all releases.

o Drive efforts to continuously improve the testing process by researching and implementing new testing tools, techniques, and technologies.

o Stay up-to-date with industry trends, ensuring testing methodologies and tools remain current.

? Team Collaboration & Leadership:

o Lead, mentor, and guide junior testers and engineers in both manual and automation testing best practices.

o Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other team members to ensure that features meet the highest standards of quality.

o Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing valuable insights to improve the overall development and testing process.

? Metrics & Reporting:

o Track and report on test coverage, defect trends, and quality metrics to ensure transparency in the testing process.

o Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the progress of testing efforts, highlighting key findings and risks.

o Ensure the overall quality of the product by identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
