Job Description

As a software development engineer III, you will be responsible for building specific capabilities for the Tesco Developer Platform, an enterprise-grade platform that is expected to host internet-scale workloads in Tesco. In this role, you will have to design and develop reusable solutions by collaborating with the product manager and engineers across India and UK.

You will be responsible for

Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field.

10+ years of experience in soCware development in large distributed systems, web services and java.

Serve as the technical lead in the criHcal domain, designing building a plaJorm that interfaces with many different systems and partner globally.

Play a key role in developing and driving technology strategies for Tesco.

Architect and write code to implement high-quality, scalable, future-proof

services that will have effecHve system boundaries and will support long-term vision strategy.

Conduct technical debate across an enHre plaJorm and help come to durable

documented conclusions.

Drive high-impact architectural soluHons and hands-on developments, including incepHon, design, execuHon, and delivery, following good design and coding pracHces/standards.

Obsessively focus on producHon readiness for the team including tesHng,

monitoring, deployment, documentaHon, and proacHve troubleshooHng.

IdenHfy risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose soluHons to meet the product s technical vision.

Influence and contribute to the product s strategy and roadmap.

Support the growth of other engineers technically by mentoring, pairing, and

developing other opportuniHes.

Be recognised as a collaboraHve and credible subject maUer expert for the

broader team s focus area.

You will need

Strong proficiency in Java programming language.

Experience with Spring Boot framework for building RESTful web services

and Microservice.

Experience with RelaHonal Databases and NoSQL.

Proficiency in using Redis data storage.

Experience with message queueing system like Ka\a.

Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.

Understanding of Agile soCware development methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving and analyHcal skills.

Strong communicaHon and collaboraHon skills.
