Job Duties
The successful candidate will work on innovative technologies as an integral member of the Information Management and Platform Technologies Development team within Halliburton s Landmark Software & Services Product Service Line. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on the latest software technologies in the industry, apply their innovative ideas and create the next generation software products.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and J2EE technologies.
- Build and deploy RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
- Architect and implement microservices using frameworks like Quarkus.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Write efficient SQL queries and perform advanced data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation across Linux and Windows environments.
- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes.
- Configure and manage build pipelines using Maven and Git-based CI/CD tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related fields
- 6 10 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in J2EE, including Servlets, JSP, EJB, and JMS.
- Experience with Quarkus or similar microservices frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, joins, indexing, and stored procedures.
- Solid understanding of database design and performance tuning across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL DBs.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments, including shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Familiarity with Maven for build automation and Git-based CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Helm charts for Kubernetes application packaging and deployment.
- Experience integrating OAuth tools for secure authentication and authorization
- Ability to work independently as a strong individual contributor and mentor junior team members.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field is preferrable
- Experience with Apache Kafka for distributed messaging and event-driven architecture.
- Exposure to the Oil & Gas Upstream domain, including drilling and subsurface workflows.
- Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, and observability tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Understanding of Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI technologies.
Characteristics:
