Software Architect job description involves defining and executing the overall software architecture vision, ensuring it aligns with business goals
Key responsibilities include establishing technical standards, leading the design of scalable and maintainable systems, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating with other leaders to guide the development of high-quality software solutions The role requires a strong leader with expertise in areas like cloud-native services, API-first design, and CI/CD practices
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic and technical leadership: Define and communicate the architecture roadmap, technical standards, and best practices across the organization
Translate business strategy and product vision into a tangible technology roadmap, ensuring architectural isions directly support revenue goals, ket expansion, and customer isfaction
System design: Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and performant Enterprise and Cloud software solutions, often involving controls architecture, backend services, cloud-native technologies, and microservices architecture
Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical
solutions
Collaborate with different regions to ensure architectural solutions support all regional and sales needs
Mentorship and team guidance: Provide technical direction, mentorship, and coaching to software engineers and development teams
Process & Productivity improvement: Lead efforts to reduce technical debt, optimize performance, automation, new technologies, tools, and drive the adoption of modern development practices like CI/CD
Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices across engineering teams
Quality and security: Ensure software solutions meet high standards for reliability, performance, security, and compliance
Embed privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance into platform design Collaborate with enterprise security and infrastructure teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks
Qualifications
Extensive experience in software development and architecture, often 15+ years in software development with at least 5+ in an Architecture leadership role
Experience with E2E system/product development and stakeholders management
Proven track record of delivering complex software Enterprise projects and large-scale SaaS platforms with a focus on scalability and reliability
Strong understanding of controls software architecture, SAAS, design patterns, Data analytics, system SW and HW integration and edge computing
Good experience with latest AI/ML technologies and productivity tools
Experience with Enterprise platform, Edge computing, cloud platform (AWS/Azure), microservices, and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with enterprise-level applications, integration with Cloud, controls architecture, database design, and relevant programming languages
Strong people leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide teams through complex technical isions
Experience in leadership or senior enterprise architecture role
Bachelor s/master s degree in electrical, power electronics, CS, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 8 years in Industrial Automation or Building Automation or Energy management, BESS or Renewables or Battery management systems with 5+ years of experience in Architecture and or a related role
