Role & responsibilities

• Conduct detailed psychological assessments, evaluations, and diagnostic testing for in-patients.
  
• Diagnose and formulate cases for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders using standardized tools.
  
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including individual, group, and family sessions.
  
• Design, implement, and regularly review individualized treatment plans.
  
• Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and therapists as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
  
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation and progress notes.
  
• Provide crisis intervention and support acute psychological situations when required.
  
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
  
• Participate in case discussions, treatment reviews, and discharge planning meetings.
  
• Follow ethical guidelines, hospital policies, and all applicable mental health regulations.
  
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, training, and professional development programs.
  
• Communicate daily patient updates and therapy outcomes to the supervising psychiatrist.
  
• Stay updated with clinical knowledge and participate in academic or clinical learning activities.
  
• Maintain flexibility in working hours based on clinical requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum

  1 year of clinical experience

  in a mental health or psychiatric setting.
• Prior experience working in a

  psychiatric hospital / inpatient psychiatry setup preferred

  .
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, and therapy skills.
  

• Fluent in Tamil

  (spoken and understood well).
• Willingness to work in a

  residential / inpatient hospital environment

  .
• Calm, professional, and able to manage emotionally intensive cases.
  
• Ethical, disciplined, and comfortable working under clinical supervision.
