Job Description

a specialized Registered Nurse (RN) who provides critical, round-the-clock care for premature, sick, or injured newborn babies with complex health needs

Patient Care:
Meticulous monitoring of heart rate, breathing, oxygen levels, temperature; providing feeds (IV/oral), medications, and basic hygiene.
Equipment Management:
Operating life-support machines and other specialized neonatal equipment.
Family Support:
Educating parents, offering counseling, teaching care skills, and involving them in their baby's care to foster bonding.
Team Collaboration:
Working with doctors, therapists, and other specialists to develop and implement care plans.
Advocacy:
Supporting families through difficult prognoses, uncertain journeys, and even loss.

What They Do

Care for Vulnerable Infants:
Focus on tiny patients with specific developmental needs, from the moment of birth until discharge.
Handle Various Conditions:
Treat issues like extreme prematurity, heart defects, infections, and surgical complications.
Perform Procedures:
Assist doctors, run diagnostic tests, manage phototherapy for jaundice, and handle delicate medication dosages.
