Social Studies Teacher

You will be responsible for developing schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the curriculum. Your duties will include preparing assignments, worksheets, question papers, etc. Additionally, you will need to maintain attendance records, assessments, mark lists, performance records, or any other official records of the class assigned to you. As part of your role, you will need to provide feedback on students" progress during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and maintain a proper follow-up schedule for each meeting with parents of slow learners, along with implementing remedial steps. It is essential to ensure that the topics taught in the class are well-prepared, thoroughly researched, and delivered in the most interesting manner possible. To stay updated with current trends in teaching methodologies and pedagogy, you will need to regularly update your knowledge. Creating a congenial and cohesive environment that fosters a positively motivating atmosphere for the children is also a key aspect of your responsibilities. You will be expected to organize the class and learning resources, creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment. Other responsibilities include being accountable for the performance of all students you teach, maintaining the overall decorum of the school, and instilling good habits in students. You should attend various training programs held within or outside the school campus and take charge of planning and organizing school functions, morning assemblies, house activities, and display boards inside and outside the classroom when required. Furthermore, you will be teaching all areas of the pre-school/primary section curriculum as necessary and collaborating with other staff members to enhance the school's performance. Managing students during arrival and dispersal times and displaying sensitive and sensible behavior towards everyone at the workplace are also part of your duties.
