What you’ll do

At TJX, the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) organization is on a multiyear journey to build a scalable and reliable cloud-based data analytics ecosystem focused on delivering value to business users globally. Our goal is to enable data as an asset by leveraging technology to deliver business value across TJX. We strive to help TJX business domains make fact-based decisions by integrating and analyzing data to provide the foundation to build competitive advantage.

A key focus in recent years has been architecting and solutioning Advanced Analytics (AI and ML) applications to support business functions globally. Architecture is a key capability to ensure that all solutions are built leveraging our investments in Data and Technologies optimally.

Key Responsibilities

As an ED&A Architect, you will work across all architecture disciplines to collaborate in all platform capability work leading the organization through pragmatic vision and strong influence. You will recommend alternative options within architecture designs and the introduction and use cases for the adoption of new technologies.

• You will translate detailed business and technical requirements into high-performing, reliable conceptual roadmaps and solutions that meet business needs.
• Work with the development, production, and support teams to provide design guidelines and impart knowledge on technical trends and solutions.
• Build deep understanding of the analytics platform portfolio and assess how solutions align/fit within the broader enterprise architecture.
• Work with Solution Delivery Lead, Business Delivery Services and Solution/Business Architect to review business drivers, needs and strategies and understand implications; Provides technical guidance and oversight to delivery team.
• Capture the requirements for future application and/or platform architecture changes and identify the techniques and technologies that should be applied at the platform level.
• Provide support and guidance to the platform teams during the analysis, development, and testing processes.
• Create architecture deliverables consistent with technology/established ADL standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Work with Enterprise Architects to align platforms and capabilities with enterprise architecture standards and processes.
• Support Delivery Leaders with all strategy discussions and work internally within IT and with the business teams
• Create a collaborative environment for work through respect, honesty, transparency and empathy.
• Must be comfortable meeting and presenting to large groups of people.

What You will Need (Minimum Qualifications):

• 5+ years of related IT experience with Snowflake data warehouse.

• Strong cloud-based Data Analytics architecture & design experience with Snowflake data warehouse.

• Software engineering and DevOps principles, including knowledge of DevOps workflows and tools, such as Git, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

• Ability to recommend solutions appropriate to the problem – in terms of simplicity, cost, and support required.

• Strong hands-on skills in sourcing, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing large volumes of data using distributed computing platform.

• Familiarity with Data Analytics architecture fundamentals, e.g., Data, Agile, DevSecOps, NFR’s, MLOps.

• Champion innovation by staying abreast of the latest advancements in Data and Analytics related technologies and proactively finding opportunities for their integration into our architecture.

• Proven experience architecting, solutioning and scaling cloud Data Analytics platforms.

• Experience working in a global agile delivery environment.

• Ability to partner effectively with key stakeholders and to use informal influencing skills to gain consensus.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong strategic and critical thinking skills

• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and adversity

• You must be comfortable in a social environment and building personal relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside of the architecture function.

• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior work experience in delivering Data Analytics solutions for Retail domain.

• Working knowledge of technologies like – Snowflake, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Azure DevOps, GitHub, AzureML, etc.

• Experience with data modeling tools and methodologies.

• Experience with data integration and ETL/ELT processes and methodologies.

• Programming proficiency in languages like Python or SQL.
