Position

Purpose of the Position

Location

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures using Snowflake. Ensure alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
Data Quality and Governance: Implement and enforce data quality standards and governance policies. Monitor data integrity and accuracy across all data pipelines and storage solutions.
Performance Optimization: Optimize data models, queries, and ETL/ELT processes for maximum performance and cost efficiency. Conduct regular performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data technologies. Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve data processing, storage, and analysis capabilities.

Essential Skills:

Snowflake Expertise: Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.
SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL skills for querying, optimizing, and managing data.
Data Warehousing: Strong background in data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
ETL/ELT Processes: Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes.
Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.

Desirable Skills:

Python or R: Knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Data Governance: Understanding of data governance and compliance standards.
Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile development environments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
8+ years of experience
Proven track record of designing and implementing data solutions using Snowflake.
