Job Title: Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Head Industry: Aerospace Location: Hyderabad Experience: 10+ years in SMT with at least 3 years in a leadership role Reports To: Operations/Production Head Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and results-driven SMT Head to lead and manage our Surface Mount Technology operations in the aerospace sector. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of SMT processes, equipment, and quality systems, with proven experience in managing high-reliability PCB assembly for aerospace applications. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee end-to-end SMT operations, ensuring adherence to aerospace industry standards (AS9100, IPC-A-610 Class 3, etc.). Plan, schedule, and manage production to meet delivery targets and quality benchmarks. Drive process improvements, automation, and lean manufacturing within SMT lines. Supervise, train, and mentor SMT engineers and technicians. Collaborate with design, procurement, and quality teams for New Product Introduction (NPI). Please make sure to comply with ESD, FOD, and cleanroom standards specific to aerospace. Manage SMT machine maintenance schedules and coordinate with OEMs for technical support. Analyze production data, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions. Please make sure to maintain thorough documentation according to aerospace compliance and audit requirements. Key Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related field; Master's degree is a plus. 10+ years of experience in SMT manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or defense sectors. In-depth understanding of SMT equipment (pick & place, reflow ovens, AOI, SPI, etc.). Hands-on experience with high-mix, low-volume PCB assembly. Familiarity with standards such as AS9100, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Knowledge of ERP/MES systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on aerospace-grade electronics (e.g., avionics, satellite systems). Certification in IPC standards or Six Sigma methodologies. Familiarity with ITAR and export compliance (if applicable).
