The CAD SPPID Draftsman plays a crucial role within the organizational structure, directly reporting to the Head of Department Process. In a project setting, your main responsibility will be to efficiently carry out work packages using the relevant drafting tools. Collaborating with Process Lead Engineers, your aim is to ensure the timely delivery of work within the contractual framework, maintaining quality, adhering to schedules, and optimizing overall cost-effectiveness to achieve project objectives successfully. Your general duties will include ensuring the quality of drafting aligns with job manual and QA checklist requirements. Demonstrating the ability to work within project timelines with minimal supervision is essential. Proficiency in drafting tools such as SPPID, AutoCAD, and Smartsketch is expected, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility to meet project deadlines. In terms of project control and coordination, it is imperative to communicate project deliverable status and progress to the Lead Engineer. Keeping track of man-hours spent and documenting any changes to the original scope are vital components of the role. Additionally, possessing domain knowledge in drafting new PIDs, adhering to standards, and generating reports for MTO and Line List is essential. Education requirements for this position include an ITI/Diploma in Engineering, while work experience in EPC or detail design engineering companies within sectors such as Air Separation Unit, Oil & Gas, Energy, Refining, and Petrochemicals is preferred. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of relevant experience and an intermediate level of proficiency in English. SPI ADMIN 5 and above years of experience, hands-on exp on SPI. Preferred Eng graduates. Diploma will be ok Key Responsibilities Database Management : Create, configure, and maintain SPI project databases; manage data merging, backups, and archival. User & Access Control : Assign user roles, manage permissions, and support global SPI users. Loop & Wiring Diagrams : Oversee generation and QA of loop drawings, JB schedules, and wiring diagrams. Data Integrity & QA/QC : Perform quality checks on SPI data against P&IDs, datasheets, and engineering standards. Project Support : Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support instrumentation deliverables. As-Built Updates : Incorporate plant changes and project modifications into SPI with accurate documentation. Template & Symbol Management : Customize SPI templates, symbols, and reports to meet project-specific needs. System Integration : Interface SPI with other tools like SmartPlant Foundation, SAP, and CAD platforms. Cable Scheduling : Develop cable schedules and junction box (JB) layouts. Database Management : Maintain SPI database integrity, perform data merging, and manage templates and symbol libraries. QA/QC & As-Built Updates : Conduct quality checks, update SPI with as-built data, and ensure compliance with project standards. Cross-Discipline Coordination : Collaborate with electrical, piping, and control teams to ensure instrumentation integration. Implement company/client BIM Standards on project. Assist project team with setup/utilization of NavisWorks and 3D Software. Perform some QA/QC on design models. Maintain integrated BIM model, run clash detection reports and maintain issues log. Work with Space Coordinator to ensure designers are producing clash free designs. Participation in Design Review and Clash Resolution meetings. Work closely with and ability to represent the PM at high profile meetings. Ideally, you might also possess the ability to. Provide software trainings as required, Develop technical information and presentation material for response to RFP. Research and stay informed on BIM related software and technologies.
