Job Description

I. Role Summary

The Lean Six Sigma Specialist will be the organizational expert in continuous process improvement, responsible for defining, establishing, and monitoring Key Result Areas (KRAs) across all major operational functions. This role will use Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodologies to drive significant improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness, directly aligning daily operations with strategic business goals.

II. Key Responsibilities

1. KRA Definition and Strategic Alignment Establish Operational KRAs: Define, document, and establish quantifiable Key Result Areas (KRAs) for critical business processes (e.g., procurement, production, customer support, logistics). Performance Baselines: Utilize statistical tools and data analysis (e.g., Process Capability Analysis) to establish accurate baseline performance metrics before initiating improvement projects. Goal Alignment: Ensure all defined KRAs are directly linked to the company's annual operating plan and long-term strategic objectives (e.g., Net Promoter Score, Cost per Unit, Service Level Agreements). 2. Process Improvement and Project Leadership Lead LSS Projects: Serve as a certified Lean Six Sigma lead (Green Belt or Black Belt) for complex, cross-functional improvement projects, managing them from definition through the control phase (DMAIC). Waste Elimination: Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and time studies to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and various forms of waste (Muda). Variation Reduction: Apply statistical methods to analyze process data, determine the root causes of defects and variation, and implement solutions to stabilize and control critical process inputs (X's). 3. Sustainability and Culture Develop Control Plans: Design and implement robust Control Plans to standardize new, improved processes and ensure the sustained achievement of KRA targets. Training and Mentorship: Provide training and hands-on coaching to team members in Lean principles, Six Sigma tools, and problem-solving methodologies to build internal capability. Reporting: Create and maintain visual management systems and performance dashboards to transparently track KRA progress, project status, and realized financial benefits.

III. Performance Key Result Areas (Specialist KRAs)

The performance of the Lean Six Sigma Specialist will be evaluated based on the following key metrics: Financial Impact: Documented, validated, and recurring annual cost savings or avoidance resulting from completed LSS projects. KRA Achievement Rate: Percentage of operational KRAs that consistently meet or exceed the targets established following LSS interventions. Project Throughput: Successful completion and sign-off of 4-6 complex DMAIC projects annually.
