Site Reliability Engineer (6-9 years experience)

As a System Reliability Engineer (SRE) - System Engineer at PhonePe, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and performance of one of the world's largest fintech infrastructures. With 6-9 years of experience in Linux/Unix administration and networking, you will join our dynamic team to ensure our services are always-up and always-available. Your key responsibilities will include utilizing a wide variety of open source technologies and tools, with a strong emphasis on cloud services. You will implement best practices and IT operations to maintain a seamless service experience for our users. As part of the team, you will actively participate in the on-call rotation schedule and communicate effectively in English. Your expertise in Linux networking, including IP, iptables, and IPsec, will be essential in your role. Proficiency in MySQL databases, with working experience in Mariadb and Percona, will be a plus. Additionally, your coding and scripting skills, preferably in Perl, Python, or Golang, will be valuable assets in automating and managing configurations using tools like SaltStack. Desirable skills for this role include experience with cloud services on Linux using KVM/QEMU, familiarity with container orchestration technology, knowledge of NoSQL databases like Aerospike, proficiency in Perl and Golang, understanding of Galera cluster operations, and experience with data center-related activities.
