Summary The purpose of the role is to drive technology standards definition in close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture community by bringing teams together and driving the design of the best solution to meet the business needs and deliver business outcomes. Handle the development of architectural standards, and the direction and design of architecture for a business or technical domain. Key Competencies For Role Sound knowledge and experience in working with statistical compute and data science platforms Proven experience in Architectural Designing, implementing and governing large programs. Solid understanding of clinical trial processes and leveraging quantitative sciences and toolsets in regulatory and exploratory pathways Ability to assess landscape with knowledge of industry trends in clinical data flow, CDISC standards, open-source technologies, evolving analysis toolsets and cloud compute to drive sustainable roadmap of technology in Clinical enablement for Study design through data submission. About The Role Key Responsibilities: Oversee architectural activities for a specific business or technology domain, or architectural practice area, or handle the development of solution architectures for projects or programs within a business area. Coordinate with other teams to ensure right business and technical capabilities are incorporated into the solution with appropriate scaling model for future increase in capacity Define standards and direction of architecture in the specific business or technical domain and ensure business processes, business requirements & outcomes are defined to drive the architecture definition Define and develop the logical design and information management plans necessary to store, move and handle data in a new target state. Utilize architecture patterns to suggest the most adequate utilization of technical platforms in support of the holistic solution architecture design. Contribute and ensure adherence to Enterprise standards, Architecture Governance (e.g. architecture methods, tools, practices and standards) for DDIT, supporting the Architecture Governance team / Community of Practice Ensure overall user experience is taken into account when designing and deploying new solutions and services and adherence to ISC, Legal, ethics and other compliance policies and procedures in defining architecture standards, patterns, and solutions. Contribute to DDIT Level Architectural initiatives, including Architecture Simplification and Enterprise Level technology evaluations. Drive end2end overview and governance of standard solution portfolio for the Drug Development Domain and support business partners when discussing with the business topics related to technology architecture Essential Requirements 10 years experience working in an IT environment with experience working in Pharmaceutical industries, preferably in Drug Development/ Clinical space Advanced knowledge of Lean/ Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Agile methodology Extensive project management and change management experience Leveraging digital technology in Drug Development space Track record delivering global solutions at scale, and interactions with senior management Delivery of validated IT solutions and collaborating across boundaries Experience delivering and managing manufacturing IT system landscape in pharmaceutical industry. As a software architect, you will be responsible for defining a high-level structure of a software system (architecture), its main components and their interfaces; interactions of these components with each other and with external systems; and a general architectural vision that guides the organization and serves as a basis for mutual understanding between all parties involved in product development. A candidate who has a positive attitude and delivers high-quality work will be preferred. As a Software architect, you should take care of significant aspects such as functionality, performance, resilience, reuse, comprehensibility, scalability, security, technology constraints, and trade-offs. You should also make sure that the decisions are effectively communicated to both stakeholders and technical staff. Responsibilities Gathering early non-functional requirements Evaluating functional requirements captured by a business analyst Selecting a technology stack and deployment methods Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality in the product Creating high- and low-level architecture designs and workflows Estimating development time Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design Perform regular code reviews Troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently IOT or Telematics domain expertise will be a plus Requirements 7+ years of experience designing and implementing software applications Proven experience as software architect Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture Experience working on complex large-scale software projects Demonstrated knowledge of web applications and open-source technologies Experience developing software utilizing various coding languages including Java, Nodejs, Reactjs and more Understanding of software quality assurance principles Strong grasp of container-based technologies Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously Professional experience analysing code for weaknesses and errors, and overseeing plans to improve them Experience designing secure software systems based upon industry-specific specifications Understanding of cloud platforms and services Solid understanding of a variety of programming tools and development platforms. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities. Highly analytical mind-set, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details. Strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent knowledge in current computing trends and technologies Ability to design and implement cloud infrastructure, platforms, and applications Proficiency in Kubernetes concepts and networking. Experience in strategy and deployment of systems into Cloud environments Expertise in operating systems: Linux, Unix based systems. Proficiency in networking: TCP/IP, MQTT, IP addresses, HTTPs, DNS etc. Understanding and working experience with cloud native technologies. Knowledge of networks and networking best practices Education & Experience Required • Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree in Computer Science. • Typically, 7-10 years' experience.
