Job Description

Role & responsibilities Communicate appropriate instructions to AHP operation engineers/ASIC/Desk Engineers/Field Engineers/Operators/maintenance personnel and communicate the status to superior. • Ensure safe, reliable and smooth operation of plant in shift. • Manage emergencies in the Plant and take timely action to avoid failures and improve availability and reliability • Check and verify all operation related activities including Log Books of ASIC/desk and field engineer, Check List, Shift Routines (Trial run, Equipment changeover, Joint checking as per schedule), PTWs, Logic bypass Register etc. • Ensures logic changes/bypass in need as well as ensure timely normalization intimation to head operation.. • Prepare the report generation (daily generation report, FIR on tripping/incidence of unit). • Monitor water & steam chemistry through SWAS to avoid deterioration in condenser, Boiler Feed & Steam quality so as to avoid generation loss. • Login all shift activities /events and important parameters and ensure all defects are registered properly & liquidated on time • Ensure safe Plant Operation Start up, Shut down, Emergency Handling, Troubleshooting etc. • Monitor AHP operation, fly ash conveying system, bottom ash system, Dry and wet conveying system • Allocate manpower for various plant locations in the shift • Coordinate with all related departments for timely actions like scheduled maintenance to ensure the reliability & life of the equipment • Attend trip analysis and review trip report and incident report in G shift • Ensure housekeeping and improvement plans • Issue of Permit to Work (PTW) and ensure safety of manpower & equipment. • Ensure correct isolation and normalization of lines/equipment with LOTO for issuing or cancelling PTW • Ensure safety & security of all the assets within the Plant premises during his shift. • Coordinate with maintenance and safety officer for preparation and issue of permits. • Protect Environment and operating the Plant within the permissible emission norms • Implement relevant modules of SAP at Plant level • Ensure implantation of IMS standard (Integrated management system OHSAS18001) and other Continuous Improvement Plans in his Dept • Adhere to the organization procedures issued by the management and assist in developing, defining and ensuring compliance to power plant policies and SOPs. • Provide quick response during emergency conditions by analyzing the situation, anticipating potential problems and by taking appropriate actions within the purview and also by acting as per the instructions from superior. Preferred candidate profile Minimum 15 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 10 years in a supervisory role. Experience with thermal power plant. Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and modern power plant control systems.
