Service Floor Supervisor

An Automobile Floor Supervisor oversees workshop or production line activities, managing technicians, allocating tasks, monitoring work quality and safety, and ensuring timely delivery of services or products. Key responsibilities include job allocation, progress monitoring, technical support to technicians, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Qualifications typically include a technical diploma or degree, supervisory experience in a workshop or manufacturing setting, and strong leadership and communication skills. Key Responsibilities

• Workflow & Task Management:
• Supervising and coordinating the daily workflow of the workshop or production line.
• Allocating job cards to technicians based on their skills and current workload.
• Monitoring work in progress to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Quality & Safety:
• Ensuring all repairs and services are carried out according to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards.
• Conducting regular quality checks on completed jobs before vehicle delivery.
• Maintaining cleanliness, safety, and discipline within the workshop.
• Team & Technical Support:
• Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting support to technicians.
• Leading, motivating, and training technicians and apprentices.
• Monitoring and managing technician performance, productivity, and efficiency.
• Coordination & Reporting:
• Coordinating with service advisors or other departments to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
• Preparing daily production or workshop activity reports for management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: A Diploma or Graduate degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering is often required.
• Experience: Previous supervisory experience in an automobile manufacturing plant or workshop environment is essential.
• Leadership: Strong leadership, people management, and team motivation skills are crucial.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with automobile service standards, diagnostic tools, and manufacturing processes is necessary.
• Soft Skills: Good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are also important for effective floor management.
