J ob Responsibilities An EV charger service technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical vehicle (EV) charging stations, diagnosing issues with the charging infrastructure, performing necessary repairs, and ensuring the proper functionality and safety of charging stations. Key responsibilities include: Installation and setup: Installing new EV chargers at various locations, including residential, commercial, and public charging stations, following proper electrical codes and guidelines. Maintenance and inspections: Regularly inspecting charging stations for wear and tear, checking connections, ensuring proper functionality, and performing preventative maintenance tasks. Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing faults with EV chargers, including issues with power supply, communication protocols, connector issues, and electrical components, and performing necessary repairs. Software updates: Updating firmware on charging stations to ensure compatibility with new EV models and address software-related problems. Customer service: Interacting with customers to address concerns regarding charging station usage, providing technical support, and explaining troubleshooting steps. Documentation and reporting: Maintaining detailed records of service calls, repairs performed, and parts used, including necessary documentation for warranty claims. Required skills Electrical knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, voltage, amperage, and grounding principles. Troubleshooting skills: Ability to diagnose complex electrical issues with charging stations and identify root causes.
