Senior ZOS System Programmer

As a Senior zOS System Programmer with 8+ years of experience, you will be responsible for providing premium zOS system programming support and services to mainframe clients. Your main tasks will include mainframe zOS system administration, tuning, and working with vendor personnel to resolve zOS problems in a timely manner. Key Areas of Focus for this Role: - Fulfill customer service requests related to mainframe zOS operating systems and products promptly. - Provide primary support for reported problems related to zOS and its software products. - Support customers on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis across multiple time zones. - Assist in customer migration services related to zOS and OEM software products. - Communicate the status of issues to customers and management during the resolution process. - Maintain documentation of issue cause, action, and resolution in the designated tracking system. - Assist in the migration of newly acquired customers to address technical hurdles efficiently. - Successfully execute tasks associated with customers" disaster recovery plans in cooperation with technical teams. - Assist other mainframe teams as required to support clients. - Adhere to a schedule that efficiently manages resources and allows timely implementations. - Follow ITSM change control procedures. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. - 8+ years of experience in zOS systems programming support. - Thorough understanding of mainframe operating system principles and subsystem components. - Experience in building new zOS environments and configuring them in parallel sysplex environments. - Proficiency in JES2/JES3 Architecture, components, and customization. - Ability to work independently and take responsibility for zOS system recovery. - Experience with system monitoring software for problem determination, especially for performance issues. - Ability to review, tune, and advise on new versions of zOS for client benefit. - Knowledge of software management best practices, disaster recovery, security, and utilization. - Ability to evaluate change requests and troubleshoot production database issues. - Bonus: System programming knowledge of multiple Mainframe Database Management Systems. Other Qualifications: - Self-motivated and able to work independently. - Strong analytical skills for quick problem determination and root cause isolation. - Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to support requests from multiple clients. - Ability to multitask and work under pressure. - Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentations). - Experience in installation, upgrade, and customization of zOS System & related ISV software products. - SMPE Knowledge and experience.,
