Senior Wordpress Developer- Backend

As a Senior Backend Developer WordPress at E2M, you will be a part of a high-performing team of digital experts. Your role will involve deep technical mastery of WordPress backend systems, including plugin development, API integrations, and performance optimization. You will play a crucial role in architecting scalable solutions, enforcing coding standards, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all WordPress projects. Key Responsibilities: - Designing, building, and optimizing complex backend systems for high-performance WordPress applications. - Developing and maintaining custom plugins, REST APIs, and integrations with third-party platforms. - Overseeing and enhancing WooCommerce backend functionalities for scalability and stability. - Providing technical guidance to the backend development team. - Reviewing code to ensure adherence to WordPress coding standards, security best practices, and scalability requirements. - Fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation. - Working closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution. - Participating in sprint planning, task allocation, and technical discussions. - Proactively troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and backend issues. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, REST APIs, and OOP concepts. - Deep knowledge of WordPress core architecture, hooks, filters, themes, and plugins. - Proven experience in WooCommerce customization, API integration, and backend optimization. - Familiarity with WordPress page builders (Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Oxygen Builder). - Proficiency in version control (Git) and agile project management tools (e.g., Jira). - Strong grasp of security best practices, database optimization, and caching mechanisms. - Knowledge of CSS preprocessors (Sass/Less) for structured styling workflows. - Minimum 8-10 years of WordPress backend experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role. - Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities. - Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers or leading project teams. Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to AI/ML-based WordPress integrations (chatbots, content automation, personalization engines). - Experience with headless WordPress (WP REST API, GraphQL) setups. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD workflows.
