Senior UX Researcher, Customer Engagement

As a User Experience Researcher (UXR) at Google, you will play a crucial role in understanding user needs and ensuring that our products are user-centric. Your responsibilities will include influencing stakeholders to support research-based solutions, prioritizing project goals in alignment with product objectives, and managing resources efficiently. You will be expected to generate innovative ideas for product improvement based on research-driven insights and recommendations. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers, you will conduct primary research using various methods such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. Your role will involve exploring user behaviors and motivations to inform design decisions at all stages of product development. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with at least 5 years of experience in an applied research setting. A Master's degree or PhD in fields like Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related areas is preferred. Additionally, you should have a strong command of user research questions and technical tools for data analysis to measure the user experience and interaction of products. Your portfolio should demonstrate your expertise in research methodology application and storytelling through research artifacts like reports, documents, personas, and journey maps. Experience managing projects and working in a large, matrixed organization will be beneficial for this role. Effective communication skills are essential to convey complex research outcomes clearly to different audiences and levels of the organization.
