Senior UI/UX Designer

We need a stellar UI/UX designer to enhance our apps design system, delivering an art-first experience that reflects our cultural mission.

About Rooftop

Rooftop is a curated platform celebrating Indias folk, tribal, and traditional art, connecting artisans with global audiences through artisanal products (paintings, art books, DIY kits), immersive experiences (workshops, cultural tourism), and learning (Maestro Courses).

Youll revamp the apps structure, visual language, and navigation to showcase Indias vibrant art heritage authentically along with creative offerings ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting user research to understand our audience (art lovers, learners, travelers) and align with business goals (global expansion, funding).
• Redesigning the apps information architecture for intuitive navigation (e.g., Buy Art, Learn, Experiences).
• Developing a vibrant visual design language, replacing the current black background with art-inspired aesthetic
• Creating a design system (component library, guidelines) using Figma to support our animated Inspire Me section and curated product/experience features.
• Creating a user feedback interface (e.g., ratings, reviews) to maintain trust and quality for curated products and experiences.
• Optimizing the app for global accessibility, ensuring multi-lingual support and cultural resonance for international users
• Collaborating with our CTO and product team to ensure responsive, pixel-perfect designs for iOS, Android, and web.

Requirements

• Experience

  : 5+ years in UI/UX design, with 2+ years in e-commerce or cultural/education platforms. Proven experience building design systems for mobile apps. Experience of using design tokens for design systems.

• Skills

  : Expertise in Figma (primary tool), Adobe XD, or Sketch. Strong grasp of visual design principles (color theory, typography, layout). Proficiency in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and responsive design.

• Portfolio

  : Showcase at least 3 projects demonstrating vibrant, user-centric designs for curated or cultural platforms. Highlight design systems.

• Nice-to-Have

  : Experience with Indian art platforms or video-content interfaces. Knowledge of HTML/CSS for developer handoff.

• Availability

  : Able to commit 20-30 hours/week for 2-3 months, starting 1st August 2025.

Budget

• Fixed-price project: INR 1.5-2.0 lakhs, based on scope and experience.
