Senior Test Automation Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for UI, API, mobile, and backend systems using Selenium, Playwright, and Java.
• Automate RESTful and SOAP API testing using Postman, REST Assured, and SoapUI.
• Validate backend systems and ensure data integrity using SQL across MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and other relational databases.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for continuous testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and early defect detection.
• Execute manual testing for exploratory, usability, and edge-case scenarios not covered by automation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA engineers on automation best practices and framework design.
• Drive continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives to improve efficiency and software quality.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of automation frameworks, test cases, test data, and standards.
• Analyze test results and provide metrics on automation effectiveness, test coverage, and code quality.
• Identify gaps in existing test coverage and design automated solutions to address them.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

Experience Required:

• 5 - 10 years of experience in automation and manual testing of web, mobile, and backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, REST API testing, and SQL for data validation.
• Experience in designing scalable and reusable test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests in deployment workflows.
• Strong exposure to Agile methodologies and collaborative software development environments.
• Experience mentoring junior QA engineers and providing technical guidance in automation practices.
• Familiarity with Java, JavaScript, and scripting for automation purposes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
