About the Role

Senior Technical Documentation Specialist

Software Development Heads, Technical Architects, Product Managers, and Operations Managers

Key Responsibilities

1.

  • Create high-quality documentation such as user manuals, SOPs, API guides, UI help content, FAQs, onboarding kits, and release notes.
  • Develop content tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity, consistency, and usability.

2.

  • Partner directly with Development Heads, Technical Architects, and Operation Heads to collect information on features, infrastructure, and deployment processes.
  • Participate in sprint meetings, feature walkthroughs, and technical reviews to ensure documentation is up-to-date and aligned with product evolution.

3.

  • Maintain a version-controlled documentation library with consistent formatting, templates, naming conventions, and structure.
  • Conduct audits of existing documentation to identify gaps, ensure accuracy, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Define and enforce documentation standards and style guides.

4.

  • Organize and maintain scalable documentation systems using tools like Confluence, Git, or equivalent platforms.
  • Design logical hierarchies, apply tagging and indexing, and optimize documents for navigation and searchability.

5.

  • Use tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Markdown, Confluence, Jira, Git, CMS platforms (including modern generators like Docusaurus), or other efficient tools to write, manage, and publish content.
  • Create visual aids including diagrams, workflows, and architecture maps using Mermaid, Draw.io, or other efficient diagramming tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related field (preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in a documentation, technical writing, or content management role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical systems and explain them clearly through documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Confluence, Jira, Git, Markdown, or equivalent tools.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of Linux environments and infrastructure documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in product-based or SaaS organizations.
  • Background in documenting APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, or containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Ability to produce quick-start guides, architecture diagrams, or how-to videos using visual documentation tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO, ITIL, or regulatory/compliance-oriented documentation frameworks.
  • Comfortable working independently and prioritizing work across multiple stakeholders.
