Senior System Engineer (DevOps + Azure)

As a Senior System Engineer(DevOps) at Backbase, you will contribute to building and maintaining an enterprise-grade "Data as a Service" platform on Azure Databricks technology. Your responsibilities will include: - Installing, maintaining, and scaling Databricks clusters to ensure the smooth operation of the DaaS platform. - Building a secure and robust data platform while following industry standards for stability, scalability, and cost-efficiency. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams of Data, System, Security, and Software engineers to maintain the Data as a Service platform. - Being the go-to expert in resource utilization, cost optimization, performance tuning, and data isolation. - Designing, building, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code for the platform, contributing to PRs and reviewing others" work. - Participating in architecture refinements and being on call for production incidents with a focus on automating responses. Qualifications required for this role include: - At least 4 years of experience with Databricks infrastructure, including maintaining, scaling, performance tuning, and cost optimization. - Experience with multi-tenant installations in Databricks is a plus. - Experience in building, scaling, and maintaining Data platforms on public cloud, preferably Azure. - Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor. - Proficiency in programming and automation, with experience in cloud environments and desired state configuration management tools like Terraform/OpenTofu. - At least 5 years in a similar role working with workloads on public cloud. - Knowledge of Gitops/ArgoCD is a bonus. - Comfortable with CLI-based tooling and experienced in maintaining and troubleshooting Linux-based operating systems. - Strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
