Senior Software Test Engineer - Automation - Python

Job Description

As a Sr. Software Test Engineer, you will help build the next generation of industry leading commercial software. Youll guide testing across the lifecycle e.g., unit, functional, and integration, while setting up hardware, designing automated and manual test systems, and developing test plans and test cases with clear effort estimates and delivery timeline. Partnering with global cross functional teams, youll help to ensure that the products meet defined requirements and align with total quality management standards throughout product development lifecycle.

You will work in an Agile software development team. You will report to the Software Development Team Lead and have a onsite schedule working in Hinjawadi, Pune, India

• Lead the planning test strategies based on overall product requirements and propose optimised test plans that aim to complete test design and execution within defined sprint goals and following the software requirements and design.
• Perform test effort assessment and estimation, test schedule creation, and manual and automated test execution. Document and report progress.
• Identify test areas that could be reduced to meet project timelines, along with any corresponding risks.
• Guide engineers in implementing test designs and ensure understanding of broader project goals.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure test strategies support product delivery and quality and provide strategic input to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Defect management - report, reproduce, analyse, debug, and corrects anomalies.
• Review design documents, test designs, test cases and user documentation.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• 5 years of testing experience in Software testing including test lab and hardware setup
• Experience in 2 or more of following: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS, JSON, and XML
• Experience writing test plans, test cases, conducting reviews and generating reports.
• Experience of software product development process collaboration tools.
• Knowledge of virtualized environments (such as VMWare/VM images)
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks

• 8 years of experience including minimum 3 years of recent experience with automation testing and scripting, including testing framework and programming languages.
• Handle multiple projects and technologies for test automation.
• Experience in test management tools (such as Jira, Jama, qTest, and ALM)
• Experience with standard version control systems like Git, Jama
• Manage end-to-end product testing lifecycle.
• Experience with WebDriverIO or Protractor.
• Familiarity with Rockwell Automation controllers and software tools.
