The engine uses GumGums patent technologies that drives non-intrusive, non-linear ad formats across VOD and FAST channels. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the stack, from architecting robust APIs to crafting dynamic user interfaces, and who thrives in a highly collaborative environment.Youll be expected to take ownership of complex features, mentor engineers, and influence technical direction while collaborating with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, DevOps, Data Engineering and other teams. Our stack includes React, Nodejs, and vanilla JavaScript.Additionally, this role will flex into the wider applications team that builds and maintains a variety of web applications with a focus on Video products. This stack includes both React and Java.Note: This role requires flexibility with work schedule to connect with India and US team members - Later morning with later evenings with flexible hours roughly 12pm-12am IST with breaks.

What You&aposll Achieve

• Work on building large-scale web applications that handle high traffic volumes in clustered environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices in both frontend and backend development as a model for other team members.
• Investigate and resolve production issues, ensuring application reliability and performance.
• Take an active role in code reviews and architecture discussions, and help drive sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies within the team.
• Collaborate with Product and internal stakeholders to identify, prioritize and develop new features and improvements for our products, as well as provide support for any stakeholder issues.
• Collaborate with other Engineers and Engineering teams outside of the team, ensuring requirements are considered and met for cross team projects.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the advertising industry to guide decisions about our technical approach and key features to implement.
• Contribute to internal documentation, technical blogs, or presentations to elevate engineering visibility and learning.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and bring forward recommendations for new tools or improvements
  

Skills You&aposll Bring

• Computer Science degree is a plus, but not required
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of complex projects and systems delivered to production
• 5+ years experience with JavaScript and React
• Understanding of concepts on server side JS that involves event loop and async operations
• Extensive hands-on experience in building and maintaining full-stack web applications, covering frontend, backend, database interactions, and API integrations
• Proficient in creating responsive, interactive, and intuitive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js
• Strong command over both SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and caching solutions like Redis.
• Skilled in designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services and APIs for seamless system communication
• Expertise in designing, developing, and managing server-side logic and APIs using technologies such as Node.js, Express.js, and Java/Spring
• Proficient in cloud fundamentals with basic understanding of Core Components of Cloud Architecture - Compute, Storage (ideal but not necessary to have AWS experience in services such as S3, EC2, EKS, SQS, RDS, and Lambda)
• Experience with Java preferred
• Expertise in Git, with a strong understanding of version control and release processes, including branching strategies and collaboration in a team-based development environment
• Ability to break down a request into actionable tasks, proactively raise risks, and actively work through blockers
• Strong technical leadership track record, including guiding design decisions and coaching and mentoring engineers
• Proven experience working collaboratively across functions to ship high-quality software
• Experience contributing to and shaping team engineering practices or architecture
• Technically strong, with a history of successfully shipping products into production
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams. Effective communicator with the ability to translate technical details for stakeholders and influence technical direction
• Demonstrated ability to navigate and make tradeoffs in complex systems, including debugging, refactoring, and performance tuning.
• Strong grasp of software architecture principles, including modularity, testing, scalability, and resilience
• A keen eye for optimizing system performanceboth frontend and backendincluding improving database query efficiency and ensuring optimal application speed
