Senior Software Engineer

Job Description You will be joining the Data platform and Analytics team at Guidewire to work on building large scale multi-tenant cloud-native data platforms. The team is responsible for owning, building, and operating Guidewire's cloud-native data platform and analytics SaaS offerings. Your role will involve collaborating in a highly collaborative environment to build next-generation platforms and services. Required Skills: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - Minimum 5+ years of work experience - Proven experience in building automation for deploying and operating cloud-native SaaS services - Proficiency in data processing languages such as Python, Java, or Scala - Experience with Monitoring & Observability tools like Datadog, Open Telemetry, ELK - Strong technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, networking, storage, and operating systems - Experience with open data formats like Parquet and Iceberg - Hands-on Experience with AWS and its native services such as RDS, EMR, Redshift, MSK, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, Athena, IAM, MSK - Understanding of IaaS abstractions like Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, and OpenShift - CI/CD pipeline Experience - Experience with cost optimization and performance tuning of AWS resources - Experience with securing cloud-native services - Hands-on Experience with container technologies like Kubernetes - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Key Responsibilities: - Build M & O dashboards for cloud-native Big Data Platform - Build tooling for continuous deployment and operation of cloud-native services - Build tooling for cost tracking of AWS resources used in Data Platform - Improve incident management lifecycle to identify, mitigate, and learn from reliability risks - Develop deeper insights - Optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines for speed and efficiency - Implement data security measures and maintain data integrity across the systems - Analyze and improve performance and scalability of data pipelines and storage solutions - Monitor and maintain data workflows, ensuring consistency and reliability - Work with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and operations, to understand and implement data requirements About Guidewire Guidewire is the platform P&C insurers trust to engage, innovate, and grow efficiently.
