Role Overview: As a senior software engineer at Cisco, you will play a crucial role in the development of software for the Cable Automation and Orchestration architecture. Your primary responsibility will be to work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth. You will also assume leadership of new projects, ensuring application performance, uptime, and scale while maintaining high standards for code quality and application design. Collaboration with geographically distributed teams and adherence to agile development methodologies will be key aspects of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Be part of a team of engineers involved in the development and testing of software for the Cable Automation and Orchestration architecture - Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment - Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale - Work primarily in Java, React, and JavaScript - Engage with designers and front-end engineers to create reliable APIs - Collaborate across time zones via GitHub comments, documents, and frequent video conferences - Learn new tools and technologies as required Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related field with 8+ years of overall software engineering experience - 5+ years of Full-Stack development experience using python or other modern languages, front-end technologies, libraries, frameworks (JavaScript, React etc.) - Proven experience in system design, development, and delivery of highly scalable distributed applications - Strong skills in Cloud Native Architecture, Microservices Architecture, and Event Driven Architecture - Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and async programming - Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, and docker/containerization - Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs - Hands-on experience in Advanced JavaScript such as Promise, Closure, ES6 features - Experience with front-end development tools like Babel, Webpack, ESLint, NPM, Yarn, etc. - Strong experience with CSS pre-processing platforms and Responsive Web App development - Proficiency in unit testing frameworks like Jest, React-testing-library - Experience with version control tools like Git, GitHub, Bitbucket - Strong problem-solving and software development skills - Motivation to innovate and improve customer and product experience Additional Details of the Company: Cisco is revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era.
