Senior Software Developer

You will be working as a Senior Software Developer at Springer Nature Group, located in Pune. You will be responsible for working in Java/Scala, docker, SQL/NoSQL, JavaScript/ES6, HTML5, CSS3, CICD, and microservices. As a proactive and self-driven candidate, you will be involved in technical design, solutioning, implementation, and release while building good rapport with stakeholders. Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. - Participate in daily stand-ups and ceremonies like planning/IPM, showcase, collaborative design, and retrospectives. - Develop new features and improve code quality through pair programming. - Enhance domain, product, and business knowledge. - Collaborate with stakeholders for product delivery from design to release. - Support and monitor the platform. Within 3 Months: - Familiarize yourself with the technology stack which includes Java, Scala, SQL/NoSQL, Docker, Linux, HTML, CSS, React, Jade, and deployment on GCP with cloud foundry. - Understand various stakeholders and their requirements. - Contribute to reducing technical debt by adding test coverage. - Get acquainted with all team members. By 3-6 Months: - Gain a basic understanding of the team's context and the product's business model. - Mentor new teammates and onboard new team members efficiently. - Engage in technical discussions to improve product architecture and code quality. - Build trust and confidence with project stakeholders. By 6-12 Months: - Develop a solid understanding of the product's business and domain. - Lead discussions on design and architectural changes. - Collaborate with global teams on planning, design, implementation, and release. - Provide actionable feedback to team members and stakeholders. - Address support queries and diagnose live application issues. Solid understanding of Java/Scala, SQL/NoSQL, Docker, microservices, CICD, JavaScript/ES6, HTML5, and CSS3 is required. Knowledge of Scala, performance tuning, babel/webpack, MQ, Kafka is advantageous. Minimum 6 years of experience as a Senior Developer with expertise in design practices, clean code, technical debts, and XP practices is needed. Write reliable and maintainable code following industry best practices. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and participate in project planning. Debug and optimize performance of web applications. Proficient in English communication.
