Job Description

For one of our clients in the Insurance Segment, we are looking for a hybrid Software Developer with expertise in either Core Java or Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2), combined with experience in data integration using Informatica IDMC. This role will involve both application development and building/maintaining data integration workflows across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

Application Development (60-70%):
Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using either:
Java (Java 8+, JDBC, multithreading, Spring Boot),
OR Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2).
Implement business logic, batch processes, and integration routines.
Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Data Integration (30-40%):
Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Informatica IDMC (CDI, CAI).
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading across various systems.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency between operational systems and reporting environments.
Support and troubleshoot data workflows in development and production environments.

Skills

Must have

Experience with Informatica IDMC (cloud-based data integration platform)
Plus either:
Core Java development skills, or Mainframe experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL
Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data flows, and batch processing.
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., DB2, Oracle).
Good analytical and debugging skills.

Nice to have

Basic knowledge of AWS, such as S3, EC2, or general cloud concepts.
Familiarity with DevOps processes (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Git).
Exposure to data migration or hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
