Job Description

As a skilled Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the administration of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters that run critical middleware processing thousands of transactions per second. Your primary focus will be on achieving 99.999% availability to ensure the smooth operation of the systems. Your key responsibilities will include owning and managing AKS cluster deployments, performing cutovers, updating base images, and handling daily operational tasks. You will also be required to test and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) changes using best practices, applying software engineering principles to IT operations for maintaining scalable and reliable production environments. Additionally, you will be responsible for writing and maintaining IaC and automation code for various tasks such as monitoring, log analysis, disaster recovery testing, incident response, and documentation-as-code. To excel in this role, you must have strong experience with Terraform, in-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud, and proficiency in Kubernetes cluster creation and lifecycle management. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, with a preference for GitHub Actions, as well as Bash and Python scripting skills are also essential. Desirable skills for this role include exposure to Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory, experience with secret management using HashiCorp Vault, and familiarity with monitoring tools.
