Senior RS - Pyrithione/Biocide

• Key Responsibility:

• • Develop and synthesize novel cosmetic active ingredients. This role involves designing, synthesizing, and evaluating bioactive compounds for UV care, skin, hair, and personal care applications.
  • Develop actives targeting specific cosmetic benefits such as anti-aging, skin brightening, hydration, UV protection, acne control, and barrier repair.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Must meet cosmetic regulations (e.g., BIS, EU, FDA) and be supported by safety and efficacy data.
  • Ensure cost effective non-infringing route selection, process development of existing and new product. Carry out feasibility, optimization studies, process validation in lab and tech-pack transfer.
  • Designing and conducting experiments involving all types of Organic reactions, characterizing reaction products, and optimizing process conditions.
  • Lead the development of new products from concept to commercialization.
  • LeadR&D projectsfrom concept to execution, includingplanning, experimentation, data analysis, andreporting
  • Conduct 23 chemical reactions daily and provide leadership to the team, including Research Associates (RA) and Senior Research Associates (SRA).
  • Identify and controlcritical process parametersto ensure reproducibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Product Monitoring and Support:
  • Provide support for cost reduction initiatives, troubleshooting, performance tests, and the development of new molecules as assigned by the R&D/business group.

  • Innovation and Trend Analysis

    : Monitor global trends in cosmetic science and contribute to the development of sustainable, clean-label, and microbiome-friendly ingredients.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Continuous improvement on thekey projects to keep them cost competitive.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve product quality.

• Process Review and Scale-Up Support:
  • Lead scale-up activities for new products, ensuring smooth transition from lab to pilot plant and full-scale production.
  • Prepare SOPs as needed.
  • Ensure that all analysts have read, understood, and signed off on the SOPs.
  • Support plant commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure successful startup and operation.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and business teams to address production challenges and optimize processes

• Documentation and Compliance:

• Ensure that all experimental documentation in the lab records is completed according to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards immediately after experimentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve product

quality.

The Person

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from one of the top 5 institutes in the state or country.
• 10-11 years of experience in the field of Biocide Synthesis.

• Proven track record in the field with extensive knowledge of Organic Chemistry.
