Job description: The Rigging Artist is responsible for the construction of rigs for 3D characters, vehicles, and props, and develops animation at rigging tools. He/she is responsible for creating animation interfaces that meet technical requirements and the artistic vision of the project. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Rigger to join our VFX team. The ideal candidate will need to have extensive experience in creating complex character and creature rigs, along with technical problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of anatomy and motion. Responsibility will include construction of rigs for 3D characters, vehicles, and props, and developing animation at rigging tools. He/she is responsible for creating animation interfaces that meet technical requirements and the artistic vision of the project. As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate closely with modelers, animators, and technical directors to ensure high-quality, production-ready assets that meet the artistic and technical requirements of the project. Responsibilities: Create rigs for 3D characters, animals, vehicles and prop models using MAYA with a focus on the quality. Work with the Supervisor and Lead to create rigs that are suitable for animation, object track & Rotomation. Work closely with modeling and animation teams to ensure rigs meet artistic needs and performance standards. Develop and maintain rigging tools, pipelines, and workflows to streamline the rigging process. Troubleshoot rig-related issues and work efficiently to provide fast and reliable solutions. Collaborate with technical directors and pipeline engineers to integrate rigs into the production pipeline. Mentor and support junior riggers and other team members when needed. Ensure rigs are compatible with studio animation standards and comply with naming conventions and technical specifications. Stay current with industry trends and techniques to continually improve rigging quality and performance. Qualifications: 5+ years of professional experience as a Rigger in VFX, animation, or gaming. Expert knowledge of Maya and Python (experience with other scripting languages is a plus). Solid understanding of anatomy, deformation, and kinematics (FK/IK). Skills in facial animation would be an advantage. Experience with advanced rigging techniques, including facial rigging, muscle systems, and dynamics. Ability to work well in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Experience with shot-based rigging and troubleshooting in a production environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
