Position Title: [Part-time Researcher & Senior Consultant]

Expected remuneration：

*$1000 to $3000 per month and additional bonus.

*Trial period from $200 to unlimited amount as your work situation.

Location: Part time job, remotely.

About us:

The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), founded in 1959, is a private, nonpartisan policy think-tank focused on foreign affairs and security issues. In addition to a wide range of research projects, the institute promotes dialogues and joint studies with other institutions and experts at home and abroad, examines Japanese foreign policy and makes proposals to the government, and disseminates information on international relations to the public. The institute, together with a large network of affiliated scholars, aims to serve as an indispensable resource on international affairs in a complex world.

Position overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Part-time Researcher and Senior Consultant to join our South Asia project team to work on Himalayan region studies.The ideal candidate will provide us with consulting services or write research articles.

Our research interests include：

1.Bhutan Direction

Study on Bhutan’s policies and diplomatic relations,such as Bhutan’s relations with India,China and other countries.

2.Tibet Direction

Study on Tibetan culture,society and politics,including Tibetan human right and refugee identity related issues.

3.Other Himalayan Region Diretion

Study on the political,cultural and religious issues in Ladakh,Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Collaborate with the team to provide us with consulting services.

2.Conduct research on given topics.

3.Collect, organize and analyze information and data.

4.Write research reports as required.

5.Complete other tasks related to the research topic.

Qualifications:

1.Have experience or educational background in Himalayan Region and related international relations and political fields.

2.Possess extensive industry connections to provide us with consulting services.

3.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

4.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Notes:

1.We do not require a professional academic research background, but we do require researchers to provide complete, accurate and high-quality research reports or consulting services. Research reports are usually 800 to 1,500 English words.

2.Our research results are mainly used for internal customers and will not involve copyright issues.

3.Preference will be given to those with work experience.

During the trial period, we usually pay you for the articles or consulting services provided, which can range from $200 to an unlimited amount. After the probationary period, we will establish a stable salary payment model.
