Job Description

In this role at TE, you will work with a diverse team to design and develop robust and cost-effective Connector products to contribute to creating a safer, sustainable, and more connected world. You will collaborate with global stakeholders, including Product management, Sales, and Customers, efficiently communicating technical details. Your responsibilities will include executing regional and global New Product Development (NPD) projects, sustaining activities of legacy products, identifying Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) opportunities, evaluating Agency approval requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA/Digital methodologies. You will also act as a technical mentor and coach to the local team and wider Global engineering community. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop functionally robust and cost-effective Connector products - Interact with global stakeholders and customers to communicate technical details efficiently - Execute regional and global NPD projects - Perform sustaining activities for legacy products - Identify and implement VAVE opportunities - Evaluate and handle Agency approval requirements - Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives - Act as a technical mentor and coach to the local team and wider Global engineering community Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 9-12 years of professional experience - Expertise in design and development of Sheetmetal and Plastic products - Working knowledge in CREO - Deep knowledge of associated manufacturing processes - Knowledge of materials, finishes, and contact physics related to Connector design - Experience of testing requirements and techniques for product qualification - General knowledge of industry specifications such as UL, CSA, IEC, and EIA are desirable - Good to have working experience of FEA simulation, prototyping, Voice of Customer, Design to Value, Design for Six Sigma - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision TE Connectivity plc is a global industrial technology leader focused on creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
