Description
Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD and QGIS based on sketches, layouts, or field engineering notes Support high-level design for product manufacturing and quality improvement Verify drawing accuracy and compliance with project standards Work with engineers to ensure model precision, industry-standard drafting, and system file management Proficient in AutoCAD and GIS, with strong layering and drafting fundamentals Understanding of Outside Plant (OSP) telecom design: conduit, cables, fiber optics, manholes, hand holes, poles (aerial/underground) Assist with planning and analysis of OSP network structures and facility construction Familiar with right-of-way, easements, and other underground and aerial utility infrastructure Knowledge of permitting: city/county/state regulations, encroachment permits, traffic control, and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans) Interact with municipalities, Telco engineers, and field forces to obtain OSP records and maps Conduct site surveys and convert field notes into AutoCAD conduit/cable engineering designs Experience with NDS and AutoCAD required; QGIS and GPON/FlexNAP experience preferred Ability to read blueprints, conduit prints, floor plans, and permit drawings Strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Self-motivated and detail-oriented; capable of working in a fast-paced environment Physical ability to sit for extended periods, occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), good vision and hearing required
